COLTS NECK, N.J. (AP) — The driver of a school bus that crashed head-on into an SUV and burst into flames in New Jersey has died.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office says the crash happened Tuesday afternoon in Colts Neck, about 35 miles east of Trenton.

Prosecutors say the bus driver, an aide and a student were all on board the 16-passenger school bus at the time of the collision. They were taken to a hospital, where the unidentified bus driver died. Prosecutors say the other two suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV also suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

It's unclear what led to the crash.

The road, which was scattered with debris, was closed for several hours as officials investigated.
