THIS IS LANE BEATTIE, PRESIDENT OF THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT

According to Zions Bank, total Utah employment is up an estimated 32,200 jobs during the past year. October’s unemployment rate was at 4.8 percent.

Today the Chamber presents the Athena Award to Governor Olene Walker, at the 28th Annual American Express Women & Business Conference and Athena Award Luncheon sponsored by Wells Fargo Women’s Financial Services. The Chamber congratulates Governor Walker for her sacrifices and contributions to our state. We will also honor Hydee Willis, Margo Salazar-Rillston, and Phyllis LeFevre as the recipients of the 2004 Pathfinder Awards. The Chamber’s Business After Hours ends the conference tonight at 5 p.m. To learn more, call the Chamber at 364-3631, or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
