THIS IS LANE BEATTIE, PRESIDENT OF THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT
The Historic First Security Bank Building on 4th South re-opened last week. The 1950’s-era building exterior is back to its original color-scheme. It was the first major building built downtown following the depression and served as a sign of renewed prosperity for Utahns. Now its renovation is a sign of the continuing and expanding revitalization of downtown. Congratulations to all involved, including Wasatch Property Management, The Utah Heritage Foundation, the Utah Stat Historic Preservation Office, and Edwards & Daniels Architects.
Tomorrow is the American Express Women & Business Conference. At the conference, the Chamber honors Governor Olene Walker with the Athena Award, sponsored by Wells Fargo Women’s Financial Services. To register, call the Chamber at 328-5057 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
