(KSL News) A woman charged with hitting and killing a pedestrian at the Salt Lake International Airport has turned herself in.
Evelini Kinikini was booked into the Salt Lake County jail last night and later released due to overcrowding.
Prosecutors say Kinikini hit Patricia Dawn Jordan in July as Jordan was walking in a crosswalk outside the airport terminal. Jordan later died.
Witnesses say it appeared Kinikini was speeding; however, Kinikini told police the sun was in her eyes and she didn't see Jordan.
Kinikini is charged with negligent homicide and failing to have insurance.
