(KSL News) -- A group of runners gathered in Sugarhouse Park this afternoon to help save some lives.
Nearly 500 turned out for the 5K Dash for Donation. The event will raise about 15-thousand dollars to pay for speakers to go around to high schools, urging students to become donors.
Many of the participants are organ donors and recipients.
There was food, music and prizes; the winners received gift certficates for new running shoes.
