This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
Risk is a word that either strikes terror or excitement in a businessperson's heart. It can't be avoided and it's part of what eventually makes or breaks a business. But with so many risks in the world today, how does a business know what's worth putting on the line? And then, once a risk is taken, how is the business supposed to manage it so profits are produced? Well, that's where Marsh Inc. comes in.
Marsh Inc. is the world's leading risk and insurance services firm. Kim Briggs, managing director of the firm, tells me that Marsh creates and delivers risk solutions and services that make its clients more successful.
Since its formation in 1871, Marsh has become a Fortune 200 company and is one of the largest and most well known employers in Utah. With 410 offices and 38,000 colleagues, Marsh serves clients in more than 100 countries.
Though they offer services worldwide, Marsh is intensely involved in its local community and participates in programs such as the Utah Food Bank and the Ronald McDonald House. In addition, Kim serves on several boards, including those of the Utah Symphony & Opera and the Pioneer Theatre Co.
Kim tells me Marsh's specialized resources and collaborative service delivery model differentiates it from other firms. Kim explained that Marsh has specialists in various areas. These specialists collaborate to provide clients with a wealth of products and services that efficiently solve specific risk and insurance issues.
Kim has been with Marsh for fourteen years. His goal was to be part of a firm that created strong, meaningful business-to-business relationships and that offered products and services that genuinely reduced and managed a client's cost of risk. And those two things are exactly what Marsh does.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
