LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Jake Melville threw for one touchdown and added two rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter and Colgate defeated Bucknell 27-7 on Saturday.
With the Raiders (2-4, 1-1 Patriot) clinging to a 13-7 lead, Melville capped back-to-back possessions with 8-yard runs to continue their dominance over the Bison (2-4, 1-1). Colgate has won three straight and nine of the last 10 meetings.
Keyon Washington rushed for 158 yards on 25 carries for Colgate, his third-straight 100-yard game.
Bucknell went for it on a fourth-and-2 near midfield late in the first half but Tyler Castillo picked off the Matt Muh pass and returned it 31 yards to the Bison 18. Two plays later, Melville hit Owen Rockett for a 13-0 lead at the half.
Backup quarterback John Chiarolanzio went 11 of 19 for 139 yards and a 22-yard touchdown to Andrew Owers late in the third quarter to pull the Bison within 13-3.
