HURRICANE, Utah (AP) -- A woman eight months pregnant and her young daughter died in a head-on crash in Hurricane.

The crash was reported at about 9:25 p.m. Thursday on State Route 9.

Ken Perkins, a spokesman for the Hurricane Police Department, said Rebecca Leean Lopez, 35, of St. George, died at the scene. Her daughter, Bo Elizabeth Lopez, 2, was taken to a hospital in St. George and died about an hour later.

Lopez's unborn child also died in the wreck.

Perkins said it appears that a pickup truck driven by a 44-year-old Hurricane man crossed the center line and hit the Volkswagon Jetta driven by Lopez.

The driver of the other car, Mickey Lyons of Hurricane, was also injured.

Perkins said the 2-year-old was in a car seat and Lopez was wearing a seat belt.
