LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The top diplomats of the United States and Russia are sitting down again today with other officials in an attempt to restart the ceasefire in Syria. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is meeting with his counterpart, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. A cease-fire accord reached last month collapsed and the Syrian and Russian governments continue to press an offensive against rebel-held parts of Aleppo.

WASHINGTON (AP) — With the presidential campaign season's final debate just days away, Donald Trump is fighting back against allegations of sexual misbehavior. Trump told a campaign rally in North Carolina yesterday that the accusations are untrue and said accused the Hillary Clinton campaign and the media of conspiring against him.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has tweeted the link to a website aimed at stopping sexual assault as more women have come forward with allegations of unwanted sexual advances by Donald Trump. Obama yesterday tweeted a link to the "It's on Us" site, where people can sign a pledge to fight sexual assault and get information about the importance of obtaining consent.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — More than a dozen homes in Nevada have been destroyed by a wind-whipped wildfire that is burning out of control in the Washoe Valley between Reno and Carson City. The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District says firefighters on the scene estimate as many as 18 homes have burned. Dozens more remain threatened. Gov. Brian Sandoval left a special session of the Legislature to get a briefing on the situation.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi police and hospital officials say 31 people have died from a suicide bombing at a funeral gathering in northern Baghdad, and another 65 have been wounded. Officials said the attack occurred at around lunchtime on Saturday. These officials were speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.
