A deal has been signed by Shoshana Johnson, a former US Army specialist and Iraq prisoner of war, to write a book about her life and the 22 days she spent in captivity after being captured in the war.
Johnson was captured in an ambush on 23 March 2003, along with five other members of her unit, including then-Pfc Jessica Lynch and three other soldiers. She has now left the army with a medical discharge.
Johnson said the book titled 'One Wrong Turn' will present her side of the experience and include information on some of the soldiers who were killed in the ambush. In addition she wishes to credit the Marines who were responsible for finding her and the others.
Johnson's book, written with Paul T. Brown, is due to be released in May 2007, according to Dafina Books.
