Romney was followed next by Governor Mike Huckabee. Who I found gracious in his defeat and push for McCain. He began by stating “let me say that, as much as I appreciate this magnificent opportunity to speak tonight, I’ve got to be honest with you. I was originally hoping for the slot on Thursday night called the acceptance speech.”
At the end he stated he also fully supported McCain and contended with the belief that all Republicans are wealthy by stating, “Let me make something clear tonight: I’m not a Republican because I grew up rich. I’m a Republican because I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life poor, waiting for the government to rescue me.”
