Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel news. Michael Linzmaier is a new school director at ITT Technical Institute in Murray. Dental Select CEO, Brent Williams, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Dental Plans. The Association is the largest organization of dental carriers—representing over 60% of Americans with dental benefits. Long-time community activist and Chamber friend Sam Guevara has been hired to become Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson’s new Chief of Staff. Sam was a past president of the Chamber’s Salt Shakers and was president elect of the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Mikado Japanese restaurant has hired Brad Emery as Catering Manager for its new catering division.

The Military Affairs Committee of the Salt Lake Chamber is holding a fascinating briefing this Friday, December 5th at 8:00 am at the Chamber. Come and hear Colonel Al Walker speak on Counter Terrorist Operations in the Philippines. He will explain the connections to al Qaida, and ongoing operations.
