This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Ted Smith is a very busy guy. He divides his time between offices in Salt Lake City and Alexandria, Virginia. He keeps on the run as the president of ARCOM -- Architectural Computer Services Incorporated.

ARCOM is a firm of architects, engineers, editors, software developers and sales reps dedicated to producing high quality master specifications and specification software.

MASTERSPEC, a product of the American Institute of Architects has been exclusively published, distributed and supported by ARCOM since 1995. It is the most widely used master specification system in the United States. There are more than 10,000 architectural, engineering, interior design and landscape architecture firms, government agencies and corporations who license MASTERSPEC to produce project specifications for building construction. These users account for a construction volume of more than $500 billion annually.

Ted was one of only four employees when ARCOM became an independent Utah corporation in 1987. They were located in a windowless basement office in the former Deseret News Building. Today, the company operates in a spacious building at 332 East 500 South in Salt Lake, as well as their facility in Virginia.

Ted and associates Angie Matinkhah, director of Marketing and Operations, and Lisa Beyer, are the remaining employees from that beginning 16 years ago. They now work with 44 employees and another 12 consulting architects and engineers.

Ted practiced architecture in Salt Lake for 20 years and taught at the University of Utah Graduate School of Architecture for 28 years. Angie, an architect from the Philippines, was one of Ted's master's students before joining ARCOM. Ted's wife, Bev, is an integral part of the team as his executive assistant.

ARCOM is a recognized and respected name throughout the United States.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
