This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
With last month's smoky haze in the valley and the upcoming cold fronts of winter, a place like West Valley Stove & Patio Inc. is helpful and quite necessary for Utahns.
West Valley Stove & Patio Inc. is a retailer of hearth and patio products, one of which includes the pellet stove. Manager Cindy Adams tells me that pellets made out of sawdust are considered 88 percent energy efficient because they are a waste product used as fuel for other products. Pellets emit exhaust particles that heating units may exude. Cindy tells me that not only are pellet stoves good for people with asthma or breathing problems, but they are so clean that the EPA allows the pellet stoves to run on a red burn day.
Cindy's father and owner of the company, Brent Thornberg, was a general contractor for 40 years. Brent worked with stoves during his career, thus providing the necessary experience to train employees to not only sell stoves, but install them as well. By providing full service to its customers, Cindy says that West Valley Stove & Patio is accomplishing its mission of trying to make a consumer's day better than it was before.
Because both pellet and vent free gas stoves have such a high-energy efficiency rate, many consumers use them as a supplement to their furnaces. Cindy tells me that her customers' winter days are better because they say the stoves give a warmer heat than regular furnaces and lessen the risk of colds or the flu. Cindy also says her customers can bring in their old stoves to be re-conditioned. That is great service.
West Valley Stove & Patio is a family-owned company that has been in business for nearly 10 years. In fact, Cindy's children work at the store everyday after school. The company has survived against "big box store" competitors and Cindy tells me that West Valley Stove & Patio will always provide high-end quality products.
