This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

I was dressed like a banker when I met Scott and Lori McFarland at the Moab Rim Adventure Park & Scenic Tram. You know, suit, tie, wingtips. I hadn't really expected to be embarking on an outdoor adventure.

But soon, I was sitting on the scenic chair lift and quickly moving up the face of the incredible Moab Rim. In just 12 minutes I had moved up over 1,000 feet and was looking over the spectacular views of the entire valley. I could actually see Arches National Park, the Windows and the beautiful LaSalle Mountains.

Scott loves the outdoors and decided that he would find a way to turn those outdoor vacations into a full-time vocation. He and his wife Lori purchased the lift a year ago and have been working very hard to market and improve the remarkable family attraction. They have built an amazing course on top of the cliff with trails, jumps and all kinds of challenges for any level of mountain biking enthusiasts.

The purchase of the lift included 160 acres and the 1,000-foot cliff. Scott has built a small amphitheater where special lectures, programs and even weddings can be performed. Also, he has built a 4-x-4 off-road park for extreme off-roading and rock crawling events, such as the Moab Labor Day Rock Crawl scheduled for August 28th though the 30th.

The Moab Rim Adventure Park & Scenic Tram contains over 12 miles of downhill mountain bike trails. There will soon be a zip line that will propel adventure seekers down the face of the cliff. The 12-minute ride to the top of the cliff can result in about a 30-second descent on the zip line. "No thanks," I told Lori. "I'm not quite than adventurous!"

Regardless of why you are in Moab or Grand County, you must take the opportunity to enjoy the world of scenic splendor provided by the Moab Rim Adventure Park & Scenic Tram. Hidden away down Kane Creek Road in Moab, it's worth finding.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
