When it comes to the precious lives of children, what an emotional roller coaster our Utah community has experienced of late!
On the negative side is the anger and despair we've collectively felt over the senseless murders of Destiny Norton and Shelby Andrews! Two young girls violently and fatally abused! No explanation brings comfort! What happened, simply, was inexcusable and abhorrent.
Then the sad loss of Jayden and Levi Seal, little brothers literally swept from their parents loving arms by a wall of water in a remote canyon near Price in Carbon County. Such a rare, unexpected accident is also difficult to understand. Our community aches for those left behind to mourn their loss.
On a more positive note, the medically marvelous separation of conjoined twins Maliyah and Kendra Herrin has brought collective joy to the community. KSL joins in hoping and praying for their continued recovery.
Such high-profile events touch all of our lives. It's difficult not to feel a sense of kinship with those directly affected. Their stories become topics of conversation in the family circle and beyond. And hopefully, these events provide motivation for those close to children and responsible for children to reach out to them with greater care, kindness and love.
