(KSL News) Provo city is considering new regulations to limit payday lenders. The measures would target where and how many check-cashing operations can set up shop in the city.

Currently, Provo is home to about a dozen payday lenders. Provo would become the second Utah County city to regulate the lenders, joining Salt Lake County and other communities in setting these types of limits.

City officials and residents fear more are popping up in low-income neighborhoods.
