Mitt Romney dropped into the Utah delegation breakfast Monday morning. The delegates slowed their french toast and bacon meal to pay homage to Romney, who seemed as energetic and as enthusiastic as ever. Even though party chairman Stan Lockhart says he's not sure if there will be holdouts for Romney or Ron Paul from Utah, Romney is urging his supporters not to do that. He wants delegates to support him by supporting McCain. Romney went from the breakfast to two other delegation breakfasts, then off to the Minnesota state fair ( a really big deal around here) to help raise money for some congressional candidates. I asked Romney if all the humidity here (it's really amazingly humid) is affecting his hair at all, and he laughed and said no. And I thought--probably not any more than our questions affected you! He's a sharp cookie, and told us he's not sure if he wants to run for office again. I guess we'll see!
