This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
Just think: Fava and Garbanzo beans slow cooked to the ultimate tenderness and blended with fresh garlic, lemon juices and seasoning. Served with a drizzle of olive oil and warm pitas.
Or how about this: Lean cubes of chicken breast marinated in a lemon and yogurt based sauce then broiled on a skewer.
If you feel your mouth watering or your stomach rumbling, that means you're hungry. And those are just two of the many delicious menu items you'll find at Mazza: Middle Eastern Cuisine, located at 15th East and 15th South in Sugarhouse.
I'm sure you've heard of an entrepreneur's business as being his or her brainchild. Well, Mazza is the taste bud child of Ali Sabbah. Born in Lebanon, educated in Utah, he's been an entrepreneur more than once, but never before in the restaurant business.
Ali came up with all of the restaurant's recipes himself. All of the selections are authentic Middle Eastern dishes, but, says Ali, with a twist that's all his own.
Ali says that the success of a restaurant depends upon more than just the food. It's the atmosphere, he says, the personal relationships people build, that make them want to come back.
If you visit Mazza, don't be surprised if you're greeted by Ali himself. There's a welcome, friendly feeling in the air. There's plenty of paper and crayons for the kids, and wall space for them to hang their drawings.
At this Saturday's Small Business Celebration, Mazza will be participating with the other restaurants in the neighborhood in creating a "progressive dinner." In other words, each restaurant will provide part of meal, such as an appetizer, side dish or dessert, at a special discounted price.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
