THIS IS MICHAEL DE GROOTE FROM THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT
Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers, a business lawyers directory, recently recognized Blaine Carlton, a managing partner of the Salt Lake City office of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, as a “Leading U.S. Attorney.” He was recognized for corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Here’s what people are saying about the Chamber’s new President, Lane Beattie. Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney—former head of SLOC, says, “Lane Beattie is one of Utah's finest and most accomplished leaders. His extraordinary insights, unwavering commitment and tireless efforts helped create the most successful Winter Olympics in history. One by one, he took on some of the most challenging problems that faced the Games, and he solved them. His accomplishments flow from his integrity and character. Without guile or pretense, Lane works for the good of Utah and its people. It was an honor to know and work with Lane; the Salt Lake Chamber is lucky to have him at the helm.”
MWI, a web design firm, was recently recognized by the American Institute of Graphic Arts for two of the top 100 design works produced during the last year. One of the awards was for MWI’s corporate website at www.mwi.com.
The Chamber is now accepting nominations for the Athena Award. The Athena Award honors a woman or a man who has contributed to the community and the Chamber. Nominations deadline is June 30th. Call 328-5075 for more information, or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
