This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

From what I hear, the raspberry shakes at Quick-N-Tasty Drive Inn located in Garden City are worth the trip to Bear Lake alone. For more than two decades the fast food joint has been serving locals and visitors of the small town with thick, creamy shakes loaded with raspberries. Of course, you can get a variety of other shake flavors at Quick-N-Tasty, but none of the others carry the reputation of being famous. In fact, so well-known are the raspberry shakes at Quick-N-Tasty, that the restaurant actually owns the trademark on ÔFamous Raspberry Shakes.'

Current operator of the restaurant Amber Parry says she likes the raspberry short cake flavor best and never grows tired of eating the shakes. Amber grew up in the Garden City area, where trips to Quick-N-Tasty for a burger, fries and a shake were a family tradition. She says she never anticipated that one day she would run the restaurant her family loved to visit, but when the owners of the establishment offered Amber and her husband, Nathan, the opportunity to lease the restaurant, they couldn't refuse.

At the time of the offer, Amber already had two years as the manger of Quick-N-Tasty under her belt. Nathan also brought to the business some valuable years of experience having helped his family run several Dairy Queens.

Thousands of people each summer frequent Quick-N-Tasty for its shakes. Amber tells me they use over 3,000 lbs. of raspberries during the summer season. But people don't just visit the restaurant for its shakes. Customers enjoy eating the Bear Lake Monster burger, a double cheeseburger loaded with ham and two types of cheeses. The home cut fries are a popular item as well.

Amber says Quick-N-Tasty customers come from all over, knowing that only in Garden City can they get a great tasting burger with home cut fries and a ÔFamous Raspberry Shake.'
