The Chamber’s Giant Step Small Business Awards honor the best in small business. The 2003 winner in the Entrepreneurial Success category is The Singing Cricket Café. Lara Kierstead began as a Personal Chef in 1998—where she would plan the menus, do the shopping, and cook two weeks worth of meals for one family in only one day. She then opened The Singing Cricket Café as a coffee shop inside Dancing Cranes Imports. The Café has since evolved into a full-service lunch, dinner, and Sunday Brunch restaurant. The Singing Cricket Café will be honored along with three other small businesses at a luncheon tomorrow, March 26th. For more information call the Chamber at 328-5077, or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
