SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — An ammonia leak at a Spokane business has prompted evacuations and road closures, including a brief shutdown of a portion of Interstate 90. The Spokesman-Review reports the leak reported Wednesday is the second ammonia leak in the past week at Johanna Beverage Company.

LOWMAN, Idaho (AP) — A giant central Idaho wildfire burning timber in mountainous terrain consumed another 26 square miles Wednesday, a day after torching 45 square miles. The wildfire burning mainly in remote areas far from critical infrastructure is up to 246 square miles.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A federal appeals court has upheld the government's ban on the sale of guns to medical marijuana card holders. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Wednesday the ban does not violate the Second Amendment.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho couple is suing after their 7-month-old baby died when given the wrong medication at a Twin Falls hospital. KTVB-TV reports that Chance and Tiffany Elliott sued travelling nurse Jeffrey Smith and San Diego-based Aya Healthcare in August. Attorneys for Smith and his employer could not be reached for comment.
