WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump is headed south of the border. Trump has tweeted that he will visit Mexico on Wednesday to meet with the country's president. The trip is to happen hours before delivering a highly-anticipated speech on immigration. Trump says on Twitter that he looks "very much forward" to meeting with President Enrique Pena Nieto. The Mexican leader had invited both Trump and Hillary Clinton to visit Mexico.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Republican Sen. Marco Rubio and Democratic U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy have each easily won their Senate primaries on Tuesday in Florida. They'll face off in November. Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schulz won her parties primary. But the political career of longtime Congresswoman Corrine Brown appears over. Brown, running in a reshaped district and facing a criminal indictment, was beaten by former State Sen. Al Lawson.
PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio (ahr-PY'-oh) has trounced three Republican rivals to win the GOP nomination in his bid for a 7th term. Arpaio won despite facing a criminal contempt allegation in federal court. He's accused of defying a federal judge's order against racial profiling. Arpaio will face Democrat Paul Penzone, a retired Phoenix police officer, in the Nov. 8 general election.
HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii Gov. David Ige (EE'-gay) has signed an emergency proclamation as two hurricanes hurtle toward the state. Hawaii's Big Island is under a hurricane warning as category 2 Madeline approaches. The National Weather Service says hurricane conditions are expected on the Big Island within 36 hours. In northern Japan, broadcasters are reporting nine bodies have been found at a nursing home flooded by heavy rain left by powerful storm.
TALLAHASSEE (AP) — Forecasters have issued a hurricane watch for parts of Florida stretching from northwest of Tampa to an area east of Panama City. The watch was issued because of a tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico that is expected to turn northeast and become a tropical storm on Wednesday.
