MILAN (AP) — Inter Milan has completed the signing of Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, from Brazilian club Santos.
Gabigol signed a five-year contract on Tuesday, the day of his 20th birthday. Italian media reported a transfer fee of 28 million euros ($31.2 milion).
The forward, described as "the new Neymar" by some pundits in Brazil, has scored two goals in four appearances for Brazil's senior side and also helped its Olympic team to a first ever gold medal in Rio de Janeiro.
Gabigol has spent the past four seasons at Santos, winning the Campeonato Paulista the past two seasons.
