This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Sometimes the best things that happen in life seem as if they were always meant to be. That is exactly what happened for the owners of Perfect Presents. Jayne Peterson and Kathy Barney met through work, and when both had decided they were ready to pursue something new, they incorporated their professional sales experience to create a great business venture. With Kathy's background in antiques, and their passion for shopping, they made the perfect combination.

In the early stages of the business, they worked out of Jayne's garage. Packed full of merchandise it was almost impossible just to pass through the garage. After awhile they decided to build their own shop on the corner of 27th South and 11th East in Salt Lake City. It all happened so quickly and smoothly, neither had any qualms about what they were doing.

Kathy and Jayne search for old furniture at yard or estate sales, and generally what they find is in less than ideal condition. Jayne took me into their workroom to show me an old bureau, which had been kept in a barn for years. Most would probably just pass this by labeling it junk. When I looked closer, the bureau was made of oak wood -- perfect for refinishing. After Jayne or Kathy refurbish the furniture, it is put in the shop, not only for sale, but also for display of the other merchandise they carry.

I can only say that the best way to find out what they carry is to see for yourself. Items from soap and candles to picture frames and baby gifts are just the beginnings of what they offer. Perfect Presents will soon be launching a new program providing gifts for special occasions for large companies. Sometimes it can be hard to find that perfect present for a co-worker who just had a baby, a birthday or even for Secretary's Day. But with their experience, they feel they know best how to serve those shoppers who are just searching for that perfect present.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
