(KSL News) Salt Lake County sheriff's officials are probing the death of a 2-year-old boy who died from internal injuries.

The Deseret News reports the boy, Alejandro Gabriel Lucero, was in cardiac arrest at his home near near 5500 West and 5100 South when he was flown to the hospital Sunday. He died about an hour and a half later. An autopsy later revealed the boy had internal injuries to his back and spine.

He was with his mother and her boyfriend at the time.

Police arrested that boyfriend, Sergio Martinez-Gonzalez, on an immigration hold. No one has been arrested for the child's death.
