FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — An 11-week rain delay comes to an end tonight with IndyCar racing at Texas Motor Speedway. The Firestone 600 started in June but was rained out. In the overall drivers' standings, Simon Pagenaud (PA'-zhen-oh) leads Will Power by 20 points.
SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium (AP) — Nico (NEE'-koh) Rosberg clinched the pole this morning for tomorrow's Belgian Grand Prix. Overall points leader Lewis Hamilton, who drives for Mercedes like Rosberg, will start from the back of the grid because of penalties assessed earlier in the week. Kimi Raikkonen (KEE'-mee RAY'-koh-nehn) placed third, ahead of Sebastian Vettel.
SNOQUALMIE, Wash. (AP) — There's a two-way tie for the lead entering today's third round of the Champions Tour Boeing Classic. U.S. Senior Open champion Gene Sauers and Kirk Triplett share the lead with a one-stroke advantage over Duffy Waldorf and Stephen Ames.
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Third-round play is taking place today in the LPGA's Canadian Pacific Women's Open. Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn (ahr-EE'-uh JUH'-tan-uh-garn) begins the day with a three-shot lead. The Women's British Open champ is coming off a bogey-free 8-under 64 that left her at 12-under at the halfway mark.
