RENO, Nev. (AP) — A campaign of hate. According to Hillary Clinton, that's what Donald Trump is running. Speaking to supporters in Nevada, Clinton said Trump is the first nominee of a major party to stoke and encourage racial hate. She highlighted Trump's support within the "alt-right" movement, which is often associated with efforts on the far right to preserve "white identity." And she says Trump is spreading hateful messages online by retweeting white supremacists and anti-Sematic tweets and images to his millions of Twitter followers.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump is accusing Hillary Clinton of "using race-baiting" to lure black voters. Trump says Clinton is "pandering to the worst instincts in our society." That was his response to a Clinton speech given in Nevada on Thursday. On Wednesday, he referred to Clinton as "a bigot." Trump met Thursday at Trump Tower with minority Republicans. Later he campaigned in New Hampshire.

PESCARA DEL TRONO, Italy (AP) — Crews searching for people trapped in the rubble of three Italian towns devastated by an earthquake are having to deal with backbreaking work and the danger posed by aftershocks. There have been hundreds including one measure 4.3. The follow-up tremors have brought down cracked buildings and closed already clogged roads. At least 250 people have been killed and hundreds injured.

CHIMAY, Belgium (AP) — One person has been killed and at least two injured in Belgium in an accidental explosion at a sports center near the French border. A Belgian Crisis Center staffer said early Friday that the blast is due to an accident, probably gas. There's been no link to terrorism.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Brazilian police have charged American swimmer Ryan Lochte (LAHK'-tee) with filing a false robbery report over an incident during the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. A police statement said Lochte would be informed so he could decide whether to introduce a defense in Brazil. Lochte initially said that he and fellow swimmers were robbed at gunpoint.
