TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey's attorney general says an abortion doctor who lost his license in the state and has been banned from practicing in other states is illegally exerting control over several women's clinics.
The Record reports (http://bit.ly/2bQO2VZ ) Steven Brigham was ordered to divest all financial interest in the American Women's Services chain of clinics after he was stripped of his license.
But a spokesman for the Attorney General's Office says Brigham still has control over the practice, which ought to be exercised by an owner. He says there's no indication Brigham is engaging in clinical practice.
Joseph Gorrell, an attorney representing Brigham before the state Board of Medical Examiners, says his client has appealed his license revocation and arguments haven't been scheduled.
