This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
Getting around downtown Salt Lake City is now more exciting and easier than ever before. All you need is a Downtown Token.
You probably know by now that the Downtown Alliance, in cooperation with Salt Lake City, UTA, Zions Bank and many area businesses, has introduced the Downtown Token Validation Program to make visiting downtown Salt Lake better than ever. Perhaps, you've already received a token and have had a chance to use it.
But if not, you soon will because anyone traveling downtown for business, shopping or entertainment can be eligible to receive one. The tokens, which are larger than a nickel and smaller than a quarter, carry the logo of bus, TRAX train, large "P" for parking and meter on one side and "Downtown SLC Token" on the other. More important, the tokens can be used three easy ways: for one-way fare on UTA TRAX and buses, free parking at downtown parking meters and a $1 off the cost of parking at participating downtown lots and garages, where you can use multiple tokens or as many as you want.
So where and how do you get the tokens? Well, at least 50 different businesses have them, including a lengthy list of restaurants and stores. Just look for the token symbol. It's a circle with "Downtown SLC Token" printed in it, the same thing found on one side of every token. And you're likely to receive a token for purchases of $20 or less.
The tokens will work in the token slot of any TRAX ticket vending machine, bus fare box or Salt Lake City meter. Participating parking lots will also accept them for $1 off parking. Again, just look for the token symbol.
The Downtown Token Validation program is a win-win situation. For patrons of downtown, it promises improved accessibility, transit options and discounted or free parking. For business owners, it means more business. So, it's appropriate that the slogan for this campaign is "A little round token goes a long way."
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
