BOSTON (AP) — A construction worker was severely injured after he plummeted at least three stories off scaffolding at a work site in Boston's Longwood medical area.
Boston fire spokesman Steve MacDonald says emergency responders were dispatched to Harvard Medical School's Longwood campus around 2 p.m. Tuesday after the man fell from scaffolding set along Gordon Hall.
A fellow worker told WCVB-TV that the victim was a brick layer. He landed on a plank below and was not moving when paramedics arrived.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of apparent head and neck injuries. His condition is not immediately available.
It's unknown what caused the man's fall. The incident remains under investigation.
