KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say human remains found recently in the Arizona Strip area been identified as those of a Utah man reported missing two months ago. Mohave County Sheriff's officials say the cause of death remains undetermined for 30-year-old David Corey Heisler of Santa Clara, but it could be a homicide. They say the case remains active as a joint investigation with the Santa Clara Police Department.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah voters who dislike Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton: Don't despair. There are a dozen other candidates on the Utah ballot so far who want to serve as America's next commander-in-chief, including a former CIA officer, a marijuana-friendly former governor and a doctor who once ran against Mitt Romney for governor of Massachusetts and calls for all student loan debt to be forgiven.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Officials say there's been a surge in the number of unattended campfires this season in northern Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest compared to previous years. The U.S. Forest Service reported that there have been 262 abandoned fires this summer, with 53 of them escaping and requiring fire suppression efforts.
SAN SIMEON, Calif. (AP) — Firefighters in northern Utah are working to contain a growing wildfire near a ski resort that's now crossed the border into southern Idaho. Officials say wind and high temperatures Tuesday had pushed the fire to 1.4 square miles. It's burning about one-fourth of a mile from the Beaver Mountain Ski Resort, but no buildings are imminently threatened there.
