GENEVA (AP) — The Court of Arbitration of Sport has ruled that the International Paralympic Committee had the right to suspend Russia from next month's games in Rio de Janeiro. The Russians appealed to CAS but the organization has announced the IPC didn't violate any rules in banning the Russians for state-sponsored doping.
UNDATED (AP) — Two pitchers from the National League East went on the disabled list yesterday. For the Nationals, 15-game winner Stephen Strasburg is on the DL with soreness in his pitching elbow, while Steven Matz of the Mets is out with shoulder tightness.
LONG POND, Pa. (AP) — The rain-delayed IndyCar race at Pocono took place yesterday and the winner was Will Power with pole sitter Mikhail Aleshin finishing second. The win is Power's fourth in his last six races. He is now 22 points back of championship standings leader Simon Pagenaud (see-MOHN' PA'-zheh-noh) with three races left.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — If it seems like Jason Terry has been around for a long time, he has, and he's not going anywhere. The 17-year veteran has signed a free agent contract with Milwaukee at the age of 38. He spent the last two seasons with the Rockets, playing in 72 games.
