GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (AP) — A Berkeley County high school teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenage student.
Berkeley County Chief Deputy Mike Cochran tells news outlets that Donald Blair Sr. was arrested Monday on criminal sexual conduct and sexual battery charges.
Blair is a mechatronics teacher at Goose Creek High School.
Detectives investigating a complaint of a consensual sexual relationship between a teacher and a student believe Blair had a relationship with the female student, who was 15 years old at the time, in late 2014 and 2015.
Deputies say the relationship took place at the school.
County school district spokeswoman Katie Orvin says Blair is currently on administrative leave.
She says the district is cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
It's unclear if Blair has an attorney.
