FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Police in Massachusetts are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who they say stole a helmet autographed by the Super Bowl XLIX champion New England Patriots from a bar near Gillette Stadium.

The theft occurred Aug. 11 at Skipjack's in Foxborough. Surveillance video from the restaurant shows a man in a Tom Brady jersey climb over the bar, take the helmet and wrap it in his jersey before walking out.

Police say the man also left without paying his bill.

Skipjack's general manager says the thief called the next day to confess and said he would ship the helmet back to the bar. But the helmet still hasn't been returned.

Police say the bartender remembers the culprit's license. He's reportedly from the Wilmington area.
