CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say two people are dead after the vehicle they were travelling in went off a cliff and rolled several hundred yards down an embankment in Carson City.
Emergency personnel had responded to a report of the crash early Monday in the Goni Canyon area. Carson City Sheriff Kenneth Furlong says a man was found dead in the vehicle and a 16-year-old boy was found dead about 100 yards away from the SUV.
A man who survived had reportedly hiked out of the canyon and was picked up by a resident, who reported the crash to authorities.
Furlong says the man was treated for minor injuries by paramedics and declined to be taken to a hospital.
The names of those involved in the crash haven't yet been released.
