LONG POND, Pa. (AP) — Will Power took the checkered flag in the rain-delayed IndyCar race in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. Finishing second was pole sitter Mikhail Aleshin. The race was marred by several accidents including one that involved three cars in the pits.

UNDATED (AP) — Because of his out of the pool actions during the Olympics, swimmer Ryan Lochte (LAHK'-tee) has seen three sponsors drop him today. First Speedo announced a termination of its contract with Lochte, followed by Ralph Lauren (LOHR'-ehn) and then a skin care company.

BALTIMORE (AP) — The Washington Nationals have placed right-hander Stephen Strasburg on the disabled list with right elbow soreness. After a 15-1 start to the season Strasburg is 0-3 in his past three starts with a 14.66 ERA. This is his second stint on the DL this season.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Eagles have signed veteran middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch. Coach Doug Pederson says Tulloch will compete for a starting job with Jordan Hicks. The Eagles were looking for a linebacker after losing rookie Joe Walker for the season with a torn ACL.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Pass rusher Tamba Hali (TAHM'-buh hah-LEE') of the Chiefs has been taken off the physically unable to perform list. The club says he will be able to practice on a limited basis. Hali had surgery in the offseason on his knees after playing in 15 games last season.
