SALT LAKE CITY — A man walking on a sidewalk was injured Monday when he was hit from behind by a sliding motorcycle.
The man, in his 50s, was walking near 200 W. Brooklyn Ave. (1025 South) when a man in his 20s apparently lost control of his motorcycle about 9:30 a.m., said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Brandon Shearer.
The motorcycle rider "laid his bike down," causing it to slide off the road and onto the sidewalk, where it crashed into the pedestrian, he said.
The man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition with a head injury, Shearer said. The motorcycle rider was not injured.
Shearer said investigators were looking at speed being a possible factor in the crash. The motorcycle rider, whose name was not released, had not been arrested or cited Monday.
