ISTANBUL (AP) — Turkey's president says the Islamic State group is the culprit behind the apparent suicide bombing at an outdoor wedding party that killed 50 people and wounded dozens of others. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan (REH'-jehp TY'-ihp UR'-doh-wahn) denounced the "heinous" bombing and saying that IS was "the most likely perpetrator."
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says he wants to see the GOP become more inclusive and more like the party of Lincoln. Trump has been working in recent days to boost his appeal among African-American voters. Trump's new minority outreach efforts followed a shake-up in his campaign management in the face of falling poll numbers.
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — Now that crews have gained the upper hand on a ferocious wildfire east of Los Angeles, damage assessment teams are getting to the painstaking work of figuring out what really burned. Most, but not all evacuations are being lifted and officials currently estimate the blaze destroyed at least 105 homes and 213 outbuildings.
CHICAGO (AP) — Illinois State Police officials say a trooper shot and wounded a teenage boy who was inside a fleeing stolen vehicle on Chicago's South Side. State Police tell The Chicago Sun Times that the vehicle was reported stolen at gunpoint Saturday. A trooper later spotted the vehicle and tried to pull it over. The vehicle sped away but was eventually caught in traffic. Police say the driver tried to run one of them over and was shot.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say a 5-year-old Minnesota girl is dead after being abducted by a family friend who was staying overnight. An Amber Alert was issued after the girl's mother discovered she was missing yesterday morning. The body was found hours later and police say 26-year-old Zachary Anderson has been taken into custody.
