ISTANBUL (AP) — Officials in southern Turkey are adding to death toll at a wedding bombing and the country's president is laying the blame at the feet of the Islamic State group. At least 50 people are dead and dozens wounded in an apparent suicide attack. Turkey has been rocked by a wave of attacks in the past year, plus the failed coup last month.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The latest campaign financial reports to the Federal Election Commission show big money Democratic donors flocking to presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's cause but the same can't be said for the efforts by major Republican donors on behalf of Donald Trump. They're also not rushing in to try to save GOP control in the Senate, while the Democrats are making a major push there. Clinton continues to outpace Trump in campaign spending.
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — A spokesman for the effort against a major wildfire east of Los Angeles says "things are extremely positive," especially since crews have made major progress that past two days and many, but not all, evacuation reports have been lifted. The fire is 73 percent contained. Damage assessments are getting up to speed and officials say at least 105 residences and 213 outbuildings have been destroyed.
RIMERSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Three people died and another was injured after a boat overturned on the Allegheny River in Pennsylvania. Clarion County officials say the 21-foot boat apparently ran up on the riverbank and flipped over early Saturday. Three men were found dead in the boat. A fourth man found pinned underneath the boat was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital.
GONZALES, La. (AP) — Returning residents in south Louisiana are finding a muddy mucky mess to clean up from the floods that killed at least 13 people. Torrential downpours swamped drainage systems, including rivers and streams. An estimated 60,000 homes have been damaged, but assessments are continuing so the number may change.
