RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Three Olympics, three races at each, three gold medals every time. Jamaica's Usain Bolt has made Olympic history Friday night with yet another anchor leg for the ages. He turned a close 4x100 relay race against Japan and the United States into a typical, Bolt-like runaway, helping Jamaica cross the line in 37.27. The U.S. crossed the finish line third but was disqualified for an improper baton exchange.
MIAMI (AP) — Health officials say Miami's South Beach has been identified as a second site of Zika transmission by mosquitoes in the U.S. Five cases of Zika have been connected to mosquitoes in Miami's Wynwood arts district, bringing Florida's caseload to 36 infections not related to travel outside the U.S. Battling the insects will be more of a challenge in the new zone because high-rise buildings make it impossible to do aerial spraying.
DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (AP) — The White House says President Barack Obama will visit Louisiana on Tuesday to survey the damage from flooding that forced thousands from their homes and left at least 13 people dead. Donald Trump visited Baton Rouge on Friday to show support for residents trying to recover from the floods -- and he didn't miss the chance to take a swipe at Obama, who's been vacationing on Martha's Vineyard. When a resident thanked Trump for coming, and said she was glad he isn't playing golf instead, Trump replied, "Somebody is." Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, suggested that there shouldn't be any visits just yet -- saying the relief effort doesn't need "distractions."
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Hillary Clinton campaign says the resignation of Paul Manafort as Donald Trump's campaign chairman is a result of what the Clinton camp calls "disturbing connections" between Trump and pro-Kremlin elements in Russia and Ukraine. Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook says Manafort's departure doesn't end what Mook calls "the odd bromance "between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) — A judge in Georgia says the parents of a teenager found dead inside a rolled-up high school gym mat will have to pay attorney fees for people accused of wrongdoing in a civil lawsuit. A hearing is reportedly set for Monday in Valdosta for the parents of 17-year-old Kendrick Porter. Johnson's parents insist he was killed and that there was a cover up. Justice Department investigation found insufficient evidence to charge anyone.
