GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida coach Jim McElwain says two suspended players, cornerback Jalen Tabor and tight end C'yontai Lewis, will return to the team Thursday.
McElwain suspended the two for fighting in practice earlier this week.
Speaking publicly about the suspensions for the first time Friday, McElwain said: "We'll look forward to getting those guys back hopefully on Thursday of next week and move forward and support them in every way we can and yet not enable."
He added that neither will play in the team's Sept. 3 opener against UMass.
Tabor and Lewis are the latest in a growing list of Florida players to find themselves in trouble during McElwain's two years, joining J.C. Jackson, Deiondre Porter, Treon Harris, Will Grier, Antonio Callaway, Tyrie Cleveland and Rick Wells.
