BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Donald Trump has arrived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for a hastily planned tour of the flood-damaged city. Trump was joined by his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence. Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, says he won't be involved in Trump's visit. The governor's spokesman says Trump is welcome but not for a "photo-op." Trump is expected to get a look at some of the neighborhoods devastated by flooding.

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump's new campaign manager says it wasn't her idea for Trump to express remorse yesterday for making offensive comments during the campaign. Kellyanne Conway says the apology initiated with Trump himself. She tells ABC's "Good Morning America" that "perhaps he felt it before," but that he chose that moment to talk about it.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Clinton says her "heart breaks" for the family of a man from Lebanon living in Oklahoma who police say was fatally shot by his neighbor. Family members say the neighbor had called them anti-Arab and anti-Muslim names. The family is actually Christian. Khalid Jabara was shot to death on his front porch a week ago. The neighbor was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint. Clinton writes on Facebook that the country must unite so that no one else is lost "because of prejudice and bigotry."

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Investigators in Newark, New Jersey, are trying to determine if a commuter bus ran a red light and broadsided another commuter bus, killing a driver and injuring 19 people. The crash occurred around 6 a.m. when a New Jersey Transit bus with only the driver aboard slammed into another bus. The driver of the first bus died. There were about 20 people on the other bus -- and the mayor says seven of the injured are in critical condition.

NEW YORK (AP) — Wall Street is seeing some widespread losses this morning. Investors continue to sell phone and utility stocks. Chemical and mining companies along with energy companies are also in decline. The losses are pulling stocks lower for the week.
