STATELINE, Nev. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard has arrived at the scene of a fire at Lake Tahoe that ripped through a docked tourist cruise boat under repair, severely damaging the popular paddle wheeler and injuring two workers on board. The Tahoe Queen can hold 300 passengers, but only the workers were on board when the fire broke out about 8 a.m.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid says he's "dubious" of legalizing recreational marijuana and wouldn't support it if he had to vote today. He says he's a "huge fan" of medical marijuana, but said proponents of broader legalization haven't made their case to him.

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — Fire officials say a wildfire racing through canyons east of Los Angeles has burned at least a dozen buildings, including some homes and an historic diner. Eric Sherwin of the San Bernardino County Fire Department says the blaze that began in the Cajon (kuh-HOHN') Pass continues to race in several directions. It has topped ridges in the San Bernardino Mountains and is closing in on high desert communities on the other side.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Three men appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom Tuesday in a brutal torture, arson and murder case that police say stemmed from missing drug shipments mailed to the Philadelphia area. Hakim Rydell Branche-Jones, Malik Niem Watson, Darrin Rafael Wilder and are accused of stabbing and burning 45-year-old Mario Jimenez and killing 27-year-old Angelica Jimenez, who died of burn injuries three months after the November 2015 fire.
