CINCINNATI (AP) — The Cincinnati Reds have optioned winless pitcher Cody Reed to Triple-A Louisville and recalled outfielder Kyle Waldrop.
The Reds made the moves before Monday night's game against the Marlins.
Reed allowed six runs in Cincinnati's 7-3 loss at Milwaukee on Sunday before being pull in the second inning. The left-hander, who made his major league debut on June 18, fell to 0-7 with a 7.36 ERA in 10 starts.
Waldrop is in his fourth stint with the Reds this season. He has hit .250 (5-for-20) with one RBI over 13 games in his previous three appearances.
