EDGARTOWN, Mass. (AP) — President Barack Obama is interrupting what so far has been a leisurely vacation to help raise money for Hillary Clinton this evening. Obama is slated to headline a Democratic Party fundraising dinner on Martha's Vineyard, the island playground off the coast of Massachusetts where he's in the midst of a two-week vacation with his wife, Michelle, and their daughters Malia and Sasha.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says four deputies were hurt when demonstrators clashed with law enforcement for a second night in a Milwaukee neighborhood. A sheriff's spokeswoman says the deputies were hit by concrete or rocks and that two of them haven't returned to duty. Two dozen officers in riot gear confronted protesters who were throwing objects at police near where Sylville Smith was fatally shot a day earlier. Police tried to disperse the crowd and warned of arrests. They say an 18-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and seriously wounded during the unrest Sunday.

LOWER LAKE, Calif. (AP) — A fast-moving Northern California wildfire has destroyed more than 100 homes and forced thousands to flee an area where drought conditions and high temperatures are making firefighting difficult. A state Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokesman says the fire in Lower Lake, about 90 miles north of San Francisco, has scorched nearly 5 square miles. No injuries have been reported.

LONDON (AP) — It's one happy day in Britain as the country celebrates the five gold medals it won yesterday at the Rio Olympics. British athletes have won 15 golds at the games so far, tying for second with China behind the United States, with 26 gold. Tennis star Andy Murray took his second gold in consecutive games — the first player to win two golds in singles.

NEW YORK (AP) — Actor Fyvush Finkel has died. His career began in Yiddish theater, but he became known on TV for roles on "Boston Public," ''Picket Fences" and "Blue Bloods." His son says Finkel died yesterday in New York at the age of 93.
