RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Jamaica's Usain (yoo-SAYN') Bolt can still be called the world's fastest human. He won his third straight Olympic 100-meters last night, edging out American Justin Gatlin by eight-hundredths of a second. It's the seventh overall Olympic gold medal for Bolt, who came to Rio not having run a 100 since June 30 due to a bad left hamstring.
CLEVELAND (AP) — There's a makeup game being played today in Cleveland and it's a good matchup as the Indians entertain the Red Sox. Cleveland tops the American League Central by five games over Detroit while the Red Sox are two games back of first-place Toronto in the AL East.
UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (AP) — The final round of the U.S. Senior Open is once again being postponed by bad weather. The final round never got under way yesterday because of rain and was rescheduled for today. If and when play starts, Miguel Angel Jimenez will carry a one-stroke lead over Gene Sauers into the final round.
SILVIS, Ill. (AP) — Ryan Moore was the winner of the PGA's John Deere Classic yesterday. He shot a final round 4-under 67 to finish 22-under for the tournament. Alone in second, two shots back, was Ben Martin. The win by Moore was his fifth on the PGA Tour.
