RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Usain (yoo-SAYN') Bolt captured gold in the men's 100 by beating American Justin Gatlin to the finish line. The Jamaican blew down the straightaway in 9.81 seconds, eight-hundredths of a second faster than Gatlin. Bolt is the first person to win three straight Olympic 100-meter titles.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Gymnast Simone Biles has added another gold medal to her Olympic haul. The American easily won the women's vault final, giving the 19-year-old three gold medals in Rio with a chance for more later in the week.

MIAMI (AP) — The Miami Marlins have placed hard-hitting Giancarlo Stanton and left-hander Adam Conley on the disabled list. Stanton hurt his groin trying to stretch a single into a double to end Saturday's 8-7 loss to Chicago. Conley gave up five runs in four innings during the game and said he has been pitching with soreness in his pitching hand that has been getting worse.

UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (AP) — The final round of the U.S. Senior Open was postponed because of a storm that dropped 2.36 inches of rain on the course. Miguel Angel Jimenez will carry a one-stroke lead over Gene Sauers into today's round, although more rain is in the forecast. Jimenez was at 3-under 207 on Jack Nicklaus' boyhood course.

SILVIS, Ill. (AP) — Ryan Moore picked up his fifth PGA Tour title by closing with a 4-under 67 in the John Deere Classic. Moore posted a 22-under total for a two-stroke edge over Ben Martin. Moore opened with three straight 65s in the event thrown off schedule by rain Thursday and Friday.
