NEW YORK (AP) — Reports of shots fired at New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport appear to be unfounded. Port Authority police say they have not found any firearms, rounds of ammunition, shell casings or other evidence of gunfire. Police evacuated two terminals and shut down an expressway approach as a precaution. The reports came in around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. City police were called in to assist. No one was injured.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee is peaceful so far tonight. Protesters are walking around on a main thoroughfare but there's no sign of the violence that plagued the city on Saturday night. Most protesters dispersed after a vigil for Sylviille Smith, the black man whose killing by a black police officer Saturday afternoon sparked rioting that evening. Police are maintaining a low key presence. No curfew has been imposed.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Donald Trump will declare an end to nation building if elected president, replacing it with what aides described as "foreign policy realism" focused on destroying the Islamic State group and other terrorist organizations. The Republican presidential nominee will deliver a speech in Ohio Monday laying out his vision. He'll argue the country needs to work with anyone that shares that mission, regardless of other disagreements.
UNDATED (AP) — Officials say a wildfire in Central California has destroyed 12 homes and threatens 150 more. A Cal Fire spokesman says spot fires caused the fire near Nacimiento Lake, about 180 miles northwest of Los Angeles, to grow from 2 to 6 square miles on Sunday. It's 10 percent contained. Another wildfire raging in Northern California has crossed a road and is moving north into a town of about 1,200. It's already destroyed at least four homes.
ZEPHYR COVE, Nev. (AP) — A group of tourists whose speedboat sank in Lake Tahoe at night are alive and well after clinging to an ice cooler and a seat cushion. A fire official says the four men from California rented a boat that started to take on water late Saturday night. The official says the men were about three miles from the shore and in the dark with only partial moonlight as they were yelling for help. People on shore heard their cries and called authorities.
